INTERNATIONAL APPEAL FOR JUNE 21ST – DESERTION DAY

We call on individuals, collectives, and communities around the world to mark June 21st as Desertion Day – a day of conscience, resistance, and the courage to say NO to war.

⚑ This day is:

  • an expression of solidarity with all who have refused or are refusing to fight,
  • a tribute to those who were executed, imprisoned, or persecuted for desertion,
  • a call to demilitarize society – from schools to borders,
  • a reminder that every war can end when people stop fighting it.

✴️ The symbol of this day is the daisy – a simple yet resilient flower that grows even through the ruins of war.
Wear it, draw it, plant it – and spread its quiet defiance.

MANIFEST JUNE 21ST – DESERTION DAY

We, who refuse to kill or be killed, declare June 21st as Desertion Day – a day for all who have defied war by stepping out of its machinery.
This is a day to celebrate life, not death. We are not heroes of history books, but survivors of conscience.

A deserter is not a traitor. A deserter remains faithful to what makes us human: compassion, conscience, and the will to choose.
In every war, someone stands up and says: No! This is not my war!

On the longest day of the year, when light overcomes darkness, we remember that even in the most militarized times, there are those who refuse to pull the trigger.
The act of desertion is a cry against war – and a whisper of hope for the world beyond it.
